  • What factors should I consider when choosing between carpet, hardwood floors, tile, LVP, and laminate?

Consider factors such as durability, maintenance requirements, style preferences, budget, and the specific needs of each room.

  • How do I know if my subfloor is suitable for installing hardwood floors or tile?

It's essential to have a professional assess your subfloor's condition to determine its suitability for hardwood or tile installation.

  • Can I install tile flooring over existing vinyl or laminate?

Yes, as long as the existing flooring is in good condition and properly prepared to ensure a flat surface for tile installation.

  • What should I consider when choosing tile for my bathroom or kitchen?

  • What is the difference between solid hardwood and engineered hardwood flooring?

Solid hardwood is made from a single piece of wood and can be sanded and refinished multiple times. Engineered hardwood consists of layers of wood topped with a hardwood veneer and offers enhanced stability and moisture resistance.

Consider the color of your tiles and desired aesthetic. Matching the grout color closely to the tile creates a seamless look, while contrasting grout can highlight the tile pattern.

  • What type of underlayment should I use for laminate flooring?

Choose underlayment specifically designed for laminate flooring to provide sound absorption, moisture protection, and a smooth surface for installation. Consult with your flooring provider for recommendations based on your specific needs.

  • How can you use flooring to make a room appear larger?

Installing diagonal tile and selecting lighter colors that have a more consistent texture will visually increase the space.

Maintenance & Cleaning

  • How should I maintain and clean my carpet to extend its lifespan?

Regular vacuuming, prompt removal of stains, and professional deep cleaning every 12-18 months can help maintain the appearance and longevity of your carpet.

  • How do I prevent scratches and damage to my floors?

Place felt pads under furniture legs, use area rugs or mats in high-traffic areas, and avoid dragging heavy objects across the floor to prevent scratches and damage.

  • What is the best way to clean up a spill on carpet?

The most important thing is to clean it up quickly so that it doesn't become permanent. Blot liquids with a dry absorbent cloth or paper towel or gently scoop up solids. Pretest any spot removal solution and work gently, working from the edges of the spill to the center to prevent spreading. Be patient and blot rather than rub.

Rinse the area with cold water after the spot is removed and blot with a dry cloth after.
