Hardwood Floor Installation Near Goose Creek & North Charleston, SC
Preparing for Hardwood Installation
- Clear the installation area of all furniture and objects beforehand. If you're removing current floor covering, do so at least one day prior to the arrival of your hardwood product to allow for cleanup and floor preparation. When removing old carpet, leave tack strips in place and remove staples from the floor. In some cases, moldings and baseboards may need to be removed for the hardwood installation.
- Your existing subfloor may require preparation to receive the hardwood, or a new subfloor may be necessary. It's crucial that the subfloor is clean and level. All hardwood products must be acclimated to the new environment for at least four to five days prior to installation. Ensure the installation area is climate controlled, maintaining indoor humidity between 45-65%.
